What is KlimaDAO?
KlimaDAO was created in 2021, in tandem with the initial deployment of the Klima Protocol, as a decentralized community-driven project, designed to bring carbon markets onto the blockchain. Initially a fork of Olympus, it focused on bootstrapping liquidity for tokenized carbon credits.
Founded by a group of decentralized finance (DeFi) and carbon market contributors, KlimaDAO quickly evolved into an open-source initiative with over 100 active contributors. Its rapid innovation helped establish the Klima Foundation, which now stewards the broader ecosystem.
Today, KlimaDAO represents its contributors, token holders, protocol users, and community members—driving the shared vision of open, decentralized infrastructure to scale carbon markets and climate finance.
Why KlimaDAO?
